Project: The Old Stones

The Old Stones

An ongoing project inspired by the prehistoric structures encountered whilst walking the coasts of Britain and Brittany. I sketch whilst travelling and subsequently make prints, often in many layers, in response to layers of traces in the landscape and the accumulated power that such persistent places have in our collective imagination. The spirals and circles encountered on and in these ancient sites reflect astronomical shapes and movements and, possibly, shamanistic experiences.
